During the roundtable discussion, Attorney Zhou Lingxiu shared his insights, drawing on his extensive experience in arbitration practice as well as his teaching and research. She pointed out that as Chinese enterprises accelerate their westward expansion, the cross-border and increasingly complex nature of intellectual property disputes has become more pronounced. Relying solely on litigation is no longer sufficient to efficiently address the diverse needs of businesses; alternative dispute resolution mechanisms such as arbitration and mediation should therefore play a more prominent role.

She particularly emphasized that, as the core area of the Belt and Road Initiative, Xinjiang serves as a hub for economic and trade exchanges and investment cooperation with multiple Central Asian countries. Therefore, enterprises should proactively formulate intellectual property strategies when expanding overseas and make effective use of international arbitration rules to safeguard their legitimate rights and interests.
