In the blink of an eye, it’s June 2022. At the start of June, the Wetland Protection Law of the People's Republic of China came into effect—this marks the first time China has enacted specific legislation to protect its wetland ecosystems. On the same day, the Ministry of Justice issued the Notice on the 2022 National Unified Legal Professional Qualification Examination. Starting June 5, the Noise Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People's Republic of China (the new noise law) officially took effect, while the Environmental Noise Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People's Republic of China was simultaneously repealed. On June 6, the Ministry of State Security announced and put into effect the Measures for Rewarding Citizens Who Report Acts Endangering National Security.

The Wetland Protection Law of the People's Republic of China will come into effect on June 1.
The Wetland Protection Law of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the "Wetland Protection Law") has been in effect since June 1, 2022. Wetlands sustain a rich diversity of biological species, serve as an important genetic resource, and represent one of the most productive ecosystems.
China boasts a wide variety of wetland types and abundant wetland resources; however, with the rapid pace of economic development and urbanization, the ecological functions of China’s wetland ecosystems have significantly weakened, wetland biotic community structures and biodiversity have declined, and serious environmental pollution in wetlands has become increasingly prevalent.
Effective June 1, the newly enacted Wetlands Protection Law establishes systems for wetland conservation, sustainable utilization, and restoration. June 5thEffective upon promulgation, this law sets rules for social activities that generate noise.
Effective June 5, 2022, the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Noise Pollution (hereinafter referred to as the “New Noise Law”) officially came into force, and the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Noise Pollution was simultaneously repealed. This amendment removes the term “environment,” thereby emphasizing that the legal regulations target “man-made noise.”
With the New Noise Control Law in place, no more will we be left helpless—forced to silently fume—when modified cars roar through the streets, square dancers play music at ear‑splitting volumes, or pets howl in the middle of the night. On June 6, the Ministry of State Security promulgated the departmental regulation “Measures for Rewarding Citizens Who Report Acts Endangering National Security” (hereinafter referred to as the “Measures”), which shall take effect from the date of its promulgation.

Notice on the 2022 National Unified Legal Professional Qualification Examination
The Ministry of Justice has issued the 2022 Notice on the National Unified Legal Professional Qualification Examination, specifying that the online registration period for the objective-question examination is from June 16 to June 30, with the examination scheduled for September 17 and 18; the subjective-question examination will be held on October 16.
Judicial administrative organs across the country have subsequently issued local announcements regarding the national judicial examination.
