Case-based Legal Explanation: Seeing the Consequences of One’s Actions

Attorney Huang Jinzheng used several real-life cases involving minors—ranging from intentional injury and robbery to theft, drug trafficking, and aiding and abetting—to reconstruct the sequences of the illegal and criminal acts and their judicial outcomes, helping students gain a clear understanding that age is not a “get‑out‑of‑jail‑free card” for unlawful behavior; impulsive actions, blind imitation, or a lucky‑think mentality can all lead to severe consequences.

At the same time, addressing the common issues of peer invitations and group impulsivity among adolescents, he focused on analyzing the potential joint criminal liability associated with behaviors such as following others, acting as a lookout, providing transportation, and handing over tools. He reminded students that true loyalty does not mean going along with friends when they cross the line; rather, it means promptly dissuading them before danger arises, decisively walking away, and reporting the situation to a trusted adult.

The lecture featured multiple rounds of interactive challenge segments. Attorney Huang Jinzheng, focusing on typical scenarios such as aiding telecom fraud, arson in residential buildings, boundaries in relationships between opposite sexes, traps in high-paying part-time jobs, risks associated with online dating, and the allure of consumer lending, guided students in making judgments from three perspectives: behavioral motives, methods of execution, and legal consequences.

Through answering questions and engaging in discussions, students gradually clarified the legal boundaries surrounding behaviors such as “refusing to return a lost item” and “repeated petty theft,” and also learned to recognize high-risk red flags like “easy daily earnings,” “requiring an upfront deposit,” and “borrowing someone’s bank card.”

In addition, Attorney Huang Jinzheng provided a comprehensive explanation of the record-sealing system for juvenile criminal records, public security violation records, and specialized education records, emphasizing that, once sealed in accordance with the law, such records may not be disclosed to external parties except through legally prescribed procedures, with the aim of preserving a space for individuals who have corrected their mistakes to start anew. However, he also pointed out that the good intentions behind a system do not mean that rules can be ignored; what remains most important is to build new records of growth through discipline, learning, trustworthiness, and a sense of responsibility.

The entire lecture offered both a precise interpretation of legal provisions and cautionary insights drawn from real-life cases, as well as practical advice tailored to students’ studies, daily lives, and future development. It provided clear guidance for enhancing students’ awareness of the rule of law, adherence to rules, safety precautions, and self‑planning skills, encouraging them to uphold the legal bottom line in their everyday conduct and to use their knowledge of and compliance with the law to ensure a steady and far‑reaching journey through life.
