Corporate Compliance Officer
The corporate compliance officer is a new occupation in the fourth batch, as announced by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security on March 18, 2021, in the "Occupational Classification Dictionary of the People's Republic of China (2015 Edition)." According to the occupational definition published by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, a “Corporate Compliance Officer” is an innovative, multidisciplinary professional who engages in the establishment, management, and oversight of corporate compliance, ensuring that both the enterprise and its internal personnel adhere to applicable laws and regulations, regulatory requirements, industry standards, and ethical norms.
Corporate compliance officers must not only possess a solid understanding of basic national laws and regulations as well as regulatory compliance fundamentals, but also be proficient in designing end-to-end corporate compliance frameworks, formulating corporate compliance management strategies and action plans, and establishing comprehensive internal rules and codes of business conduct. This ensures that the company’s operations comply with local laws, regulations, and supervisory requirements, and that employees adhere to professional ethics and standards of conduct.
